Sustainable Life Through Arts
C4CCI, together with Susako and supported by the British Council Creative Collaborations Programme, proudly announces the Sustainable Life Through Arts project. This initiative invites visionary digital artists to transform industrial waste into creative art, exploring sustainability through digital mediums like video art, installation, new media, and XR technologies.

Project Overview
The Sustainable Life Through Arts project reimagines industrial waste, turning discarded materials into meaningful artistic expressions. Hosted in Izmit, this residency challenges artists to address environmental issues and contribute to discussions on a sustainable future.
What We Offer
- Sustainability Arts Workshops: Upcycling workshops that explore the artistic reuse of industrial materials, with a focus on empowering women in local communities.
- Residency Program: A two-day digital artist residency, allowing participants to create experimental works inspired by sustainability.
- Exhibition: Produced works will be displayed both physically at Susako’s historic venue and in an online exhibition.
Who Can Apply
We invite digital artists working in video art, installation, new media, and XR (AR, VR, MR), who are passionate about sustainability and community-focused practices, to apply. Artists should aim to create new work that addresses sustainability and the circular economy.

Are you ready to transform industrial waste into art and raise ecological awareness through creativity? Apply now to join our international collaboration.
Five digital artists will be selected for the residency and will have their work exhibited both online and in-person in Izmit.
Participation Terms:
By applying, the artist agrees to the following terms:
Digital Art Elements
The project focuses on digital art. The artist agrees to work within this theme.
Residency and Workshop Participation
The artist will attend the Sustainability Arts Workshop in Izmit, scheduled for December 19-20, 2024 (dates subject to change). During this residency, the artist will collaborate with SUSAKO and local women to gather visual materials for the project.
Copyright and Publication Rights
C4CCI and SUSAKO retain the copyright and publication rights of the produced artwork. The artist grants permission for the work’s use, exhibition, and promotion.
Cancellation and Participation Obligations
In cases where the artist fails to participate (except for force majeure), penalties determined by the organisers will apply.
Accommodation, Travel, and Fees
Accommodation and travel costs (limited to Istanbul-Izmit) will be covered by the organisers. The artist will receive a fee for their participation, with details provided upon project confirmation.
Artwork Submission Deadline
The final artwork must be submitted within two months after the residency, in the required format.
Exhibition of Work
The artist agrees to display their work at the physical and online exhibitions, scheduled for March 2025 (dates may change).
Usage Rights
C4CCI and SUSAKO may use photographs, videos, and digital records of the artwork for promotional, educational, and dissemination purposes
Privacy and Data Usage
The artist agrees that personal information provided during the application will be used in accordance with the privacy policies of C4CCI and SUSAKO.
